Funded by a Lenfest grant from Washington and Lee University, this expansive and intricate work was created specifically in response to the Medicine Factory’s exhibition space and the traces of history and use on its walls.  Covering the five walls of the gallery, Lyle’s drawing conjures an atmosphere reminiscent of constellations and maps, while the drips of old paint  and nail holes reiterate the Medicine Factory’s current purpose as a working artists’ studio.

Lyle received her MFA from New York University in 2000 and has since exhibited widely in numerous group and solo exhibitions.  She was the recipient of a 2011 Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Professional Fellowship and was a fellow at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts in 2009 and 2011.  She is represented by Page Bond Gallery in Richmond, VA.  Lyle lives and works in Lexington, VA where she also serves as Director of the Staniar Gallery in the Art Department of Washington and Lee University.
